Dave Albo has been actively litigating civil and criminal cases in Virginia's state and federal courts for nineteen years. He is a trial attorney in the true sense of the word. He has tried numerous jury trials, hundreds of bench trials, and too many motions to count! Washingtonian magazine has recognized Mr. Albo as one of the region's "Top Lawyers," and he frequently appears as a legal commentator on national television and radio.
Mr. Albo is the co-founder of Albo & Oblon, which is one of Virginia's 75 largest law firms. The firm practices employment law, government contracts law, business litigation, and criminal/traffic law.
Mr. Albo grew up in Northern Virginia. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. degree in Economics in 1984, and from the University of Richmond with his Juris Doctor (law) degree in 1988.
In the past, Mr. Albo:
- Appeared multiple times on national television as a legal commentator.
- Served as Prosecutor for the City of Fairfax Virginia from 1990 - 1994.
- 'Served as a Court Appointed Defense Counsel in numerous federal and state cases in Northern Virginia.
- Argued cases before the Virginia Supreme Court, the State Court of Appeals and the Federal 4th Circuit Court of Appeals numerous times.
- Has tried numerous jury trials and hundreds of bench trials in his 19 years of practice.
Mr. Albo also serves as a Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly, having first been elected in 1993. The General Assembly is a part-time legislative body. Delegate Albo, a Republican, is presently serving in his 7th Term. He represents the Southern tip of Fairfax County, which has the distinction of previously being George Mason's seat in the legislature.
Delegate Albo serves as the Chairman of the Courts of Justice (Judiciary) Committee. Thus, he is on the front line of drafting all criminal (and many civil) statutes in Virginia. Delegate Albo also serves on the General Laws and the Privileges and Elections Committees.
